I’ve changed alot recently, maybe I’ve had an epiphany, maybe I’m just too tired to care what people think. Or maybe I’m en route to some kind of Michael Douglas-Falling Down type break down, ah well who knows?
Anyway, the point is whatever the reason may be, I’ve just got a bit braver, I just give less of a shit.
Life is just better when you don’t determine your choices based on the perceived reactions of others.
I realised this the other day when I shocked myself by shouting at an old lady in Aldi. Don’t worry she totally deserved it, she was incredibly rude to me for no reason and I only gave her back what she gave me. She should think twice before targeting a harassed working mother who is due her period.

Truthfully, I am in no way a confrontational person. I hate conflict and I only enjoy arguing with my husband but I’ve reached a stage now where I might not actually tolerate other people’s bad behavior and the world is just going to have to suck it.
I’ve also started wearing lipstick, SherryBerry to be exact. It was £8 in Boots and I just went crazy and treated myself. I’ve never worn lipstick in my whole life, not even when I go out, its just never really occurred to me. I’m not trying to be sexy or anything (ha!), I don’t even know if its my right shade or if it compliments my skin tone or whatever. I just like it,so I wear it.
A couple of weeks ago I had all my hair cut off (no not Britney meltdown style) I just fancied a ‘bob’, I’ve never had one before so I just got one because I felt like it.
Years ago I would have felt stupid suddenly wearing lipstick or having a drastic hair cut. I would have worried about what people might say or think. Now I just don’t care if other people like or hate or don’t even notice my choices.

Then of course I’ve started this blog, which in itself has been quite liberating. I appreciate it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I mean it’s all based around the fact that I’m a mother and I’m a bit neurotic. So if you don’t have kids and you’re not crazy, chances are you won’t relate a whole bunch but hey, you can’t write for everyone! You can only write for yourself and hope that someone, somewhere finds you vaguely entertaining.
I like my blog though and that’s what matters, I feel a bit proud of it already. I’ve had some great comments and feedback and I’m getting to work with some great bloggers next week. I had my first Tots100 position a few days ago, which was obviously no where near the Top 100 but for a site that’s just over two months old I was seriously thrilled by my ranking. Recently I’ve summoned up the courage to approach brands and products directly, resulting in two very exciting projects coming up later this year. All because I put my big girl pants on, believed in myself and stopped worrying about what other people might think!

So World, here’s the thing don’t try mess with me ok? I’ve got big girl pants, slutty lipstick and an on trend haircut (which I have time to style 3 days out of 7!). I’ve also got a brand new attitude and an excellent resting bitch face, so come at me if you dare!

What a fab post – I'd love to wear lipstick but I look stupid. I'm over the drastic haircuts after working in a hairdressers and starting with lovely long hair and finishing with a 70s razor cut that posh had when she married Becks!

Anyway, I digress, great sentiment and I'm looking forward to seeing the brand work you get to do!

I love this post! Never let other people's opinions define who you are or stop you becoming all you can be. Put on your lippy, give the haters the finger and enjoy 🙂 #effitfriday

Ha I love it! The older I've gotten the more confident I've gotten but also the less able to just put up with bs from people. I'm a lot happier for it 😉 Well done on approaching brands I've yet to get around to it

Love it! I'm intrigued as to what the old lady said to you and how you responded!! And I totally agree with the idea of getting to a place where you don't bother to care what other people might think or say — somewhere between sleep deprivation and working sun-up to sun-down you realize that making yourself and your family happy are the only real priorities! Great post! Visiting from #brilliantblogposts

I think it's a combination of age and being a parent.
I used to be the kind of person that would let stupid stuff go, or if somebody was acting like an idiot I wouldn't let it bother me. Now I'd tell them they were being an idiot.
Congrats on starting the blog and I hope it brings you everything you want from it. Just don't let stats and scores control you. (Yes I realise you didn't ask for advice! lol)

Woohoo! Bobs are on trend? Yay – that means I'm on trend too! I'm so glad you shouted at an old lady in the supermarket. Not that I think this is always a good thing to do but sometimes old people are so rude – they seem to think it is ok to be rude as though age entitles them to it or something. I'm going to try really hard not to care what people think about me too – starting from right now!
