Christmas is coming and I’m already getting in the spirit! I know, I know… “it’s still only November”, but come on – don’t be such a miserable sod. It’s so exciting!

It was a rainy afternoon today so Finley and I  made our first batch of Christmas Hot Chocolate Gift Jars. Here’s our mini Vlog and the ‘recipe’ is below.

Here’s what you need:

Mason Jars – choose your size, we went with biggies (1 litre capacity)

Dried Skimmed Milk Powder – bottom layer at 1 quarter jar quantity

Hot Chocolate Mix – second layer at 2 quarters jar quantity

Grated dark chocolate and/ or crushed candy canes – third layer at 1 eighth of jar quantity

Mini White Marshmallows – final layer, fill to the top

I’ve seen these on pinterest but haven’t made them myself. It’s a nice idea, something more personal. #StayClassyMama

Love these!!! I’m going to make one for my niece as she is hot chocolate obsessed, and one for a friend too. WOuld you just tell them to add some to a mug with boiling water, since the milk powder is there? #stayclassymama

Brilliant idea. And great timing too. I really have no excuse not to take inspiration and get organised. But I know I’ll just leave it until mid December and spend more than I can afford online at the last minute. Still enjoyed watching Not Sarah though. #stayclassymama

What a lovely idea and a fabulous personal gift!! I would love to do something like this for the teachers at school, but we are usually so busy that I end up buying them a bottle of wine from the local shop and promising i’ll do better next year! #stayclassymama

I love making these sorts of jars, cookie mix or hot chocolate. I’ve never used candy canes in hot chocolate, I think we’ll have to try that. In my experience people always appreciate a home made gift more as well. It’s been a while but I always used to make treats at Christmas, the kitchen is calling! #stayclassymama

We’ve done exactly the same! Love the simplicity and craft side of it and that you can tailor the recipe or ingredients or even have a totally different treat in the jars! Here’s to Christmas…this time next month!!! 🎄🎄🎄

This is genius! And I can have the kinder (kids) help in the making and distributing. Elves in tow, we can spread hot cocoa all over! Thank you for this awesome idea for gifting! #stayclassymama xoxox

My daughter does the same thing that your son does when icing cakes. More in her mouth than on the cake! Love it #stayclassymama

This is brilliant – both the idea and the vid. Love the music and the banter. Bless him, he’s a cutie! #stayclassymama
